Performance and professional standards panel
Jurisdiction: South Australia Date of Decision: 26 August 2020
The Board referred allegations that the Practitioner had engaged in aggressive and inappropriate communication towards work colleagues including in the presence of patients. In addition, she had failed to escalate a workplace report to the appropriate person. The Practitioner held a leadership role placing her in a position of seniority over her colleagues.
The Panel found that the Practitioner had behaved in a way that constitutes unprofessional conduct. The Panel cautioned the Practitioner. In determining sanction, the Panel took into consideration that the Practitioner had been suspended for a period of four months during a workplace investigation which culminated in a first and final warning. Further, the Panel noted that the Practitioner had undertaken remedial education to address the issues raised.
