Ahpra and National Boards are working with government, health services and other authorities to support the registered health workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes establishing the pandemic response sub-register to help with fast tracking the return of experienced and qualified health practitioners if a rapid response to the pandemic is needed.
Health departments have published information on their websites for registered practitioners, including those on the sub-register, who are interested in working within their local health system as part of the response to COVID-19.
While work may not be immediately available, practitioners who register their interest may be called upon in the future to meet response needs as they develop.
