How to create your account and set up your Ahpra portal

This information is for new applicants applying for the first time or for authorised representatives who are accessing a practitioner account.
If you’re a registered health practitioner, or have previously been registered, and already have an account with Ahpra you need to move your account to the new Ahpra portal.

How to create your account

Watch our how to video and complete the following steps

Go to the Ahpra portal login

  1. Click ‘Log in to Ahpra portal’ button on the Login page.
  2. Click Create account button

Provide your details and verify your email

The email you use to verify your account will become your new username (if it isn’t your username already).

  1. Enter your First name, Last name, Email address, Mobile including country code, and Date of birth
  2. Click Sign Up.
  3. Check your email inbox for a verification email. If you don’t receive it, check your junk or spam folder.
  4. Click the link in the verification email.

Once you verify your email, you will be prompted to set up your password and multifactor authentication to complete your account and Ahpra portal set up.

Set up multifactor authentication

Multifactor authentication is an extra layer of security to protect your Ahpra account. You might also know it as two-step verification.

It means you need to use your password and the free Google Authenticator app every time you log in to your Ahpra portal.

Follow the on-screen steps to complete the set up. You can also view our videos and step-by-step guides to help you set up multifactor authentication.

Troubleshooting tips

We’re here to help, but we recommend checking the below troubleshooting tips before you contact us as we’re experiencing a high-volume of calls and there may be extended wait times.

  • Check you entered the correct email address registered with us.
  • Check your junk or spam folder.
  • Check the email you entered was correct.

  • Try using another browser – we recommend Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  • Try using another laptop or desktop computer.
