About registration

Ahpra registers health practitioners in Australia. We only register people who have the skills and qualifications to provide competent and ethical care. Registered health practitioners must confirm each year that they meet the standards for registration.

To help protect the public, some health practitioners and students have conditions or undertakings (restrictions) placed on their registration. We make sure they are complying with the conditions or undertakings. We also monitor that health practitioners whose registration has been cancelled or suspended are not practising.
