Australian Medical Association (AMA) Peer Support Service

The AMA is an anonymous and confidential support service for doctors by doctors. Open from 8am to 10pm every day of the year.

Victorian Doctors’ Health Program

The Victorian Doctors’ Health Program provides assistance to doctors and medical students who have any of the following concerns:

  • Stress and anxiety 
  • Substance use problems 
  • Mental or physical health concerns 
  • Any other health issues

Advice is also provided to anyone who is concerned about a doctor or medical student. This includes family, friends, colleagues, university staff and clinical staff.

Nursing and Midwifery Health Program Victoria

The Nursing and Midwifery Health Program Victoria (formerly the Victorian Nurses Health Program) is an independent support service for nurses, midwives and students of nursing and midwifery experiencing health issues related to their mental health or substance use concerns.

Pharmacists Support Service

The Pharmacists Support Service (PSS) works on the principle of pharmacists supporting pharmacists. The service provides a listening ear over the phone to pharmacists and pharmacy interns and students. The volunteers who take the calls are all pharmacists and are trained in the crisis model of phone counselling to support their colleagues.
