Consultation closing soon - Supervised practice framework review

29 Jul 2025

Consultation on the review of Supervised practice framework for registered health practitioners is closing this Thursday 31 July. Now is the time to have your say.

What is the consultation about?

Ahpra and the National Boards are reviewing the Supervised practice framework (the framework) for all registered health practitioners and we want to hear from you. The framework sets out relevant National Boards’ expectations and supports supervisees, supervisors and employers to understand what is necessary for effective supervised practice.

We want to make working in Australia simpler, quicker and cheaper for internationally qualified health practitioners, where this can be done safely. Reviewing the framework is part of this work and comes from recommendation 15 from the Independent review of Australia’s regulatory settings relating to overseas health practitioners.

We are interested in your feedback as a registered health practitioner, employer or supervisor on what is working well and if any improvements could be made. How do you use the framework? What are its strengths and limitations? Is it working flexibly or is it too restrictive? Is there anything missing?
