The Osteopathy Board of Australia (the Board) invites applications from experienced osteopathy practitioners interested in being included on a list of approved persons for appointment to panels to assist the Board in its primary role of protecting the public.

The National Board is seeking applications from general registered osteopathy practitioners with a minimum of three years current and recent experience who reside in the following states and territories:

  • Australian Capital Territory
  • Northern Territory
  • South Australia
  • Tasmania
  • Western Australia

Recruitment in accordance with s183(2) of the National Law, to the extent practicable, will exclude individuals whose residence or principal place of practice is in a co-regulatory jurisdiction (i.e. NSW).

Under the National Law1, a National Board convenes health panels and performance and professional standards panels when required to hold hearings into specific health, performance or conduct matters for individual registered health professionals.

Such panels consist of members chosen from a National Board list of approved person for appointment to panels.

Appointments to the list of approved persons for appointment to panels are for up to three years, with eligibility for re-appointment, and are expected to commence in late 2015.
