Occupational Therapy Board of Australia sets registration fee for 2019/20

19 Sep 2019

The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (the Board) has announced the national registration fee for occupational therapists for 2019/20.

The Board has increased the registration fee, limiting the increase to indexation of 2.5%, for occupational therapists from $110 to $113.

The fee for practitioners whose principal place of practice is New South Wales is $1071.

A full fee schedule, including the fee arrangements for practitioners whose principal place of practice is NSW, is published on the Board’s website.

After freezing the registration fee for occupational therapists for two consecutive years, the Board has agreed to slightly increase the fees to indexation of 2.5%. This fee remains the lowest one in comparison to the fees of other registered health professions within the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme).

The occupational therapists’ registration fees fund the National Scheme and support the Board’s regulation of the occupational therapy profession to ensure the protection of the public.

The Board will continue to fulfill its regulatory functions, including assessing and deciding upon applications for registration, handling notifications/complaints2 and monitoring of any restrictions. The Board will continue to work on a number of key initiatives, while regulating the fastest growing profession in the National Scheme.

The Board is committed to keeping the fees as low as possible, while meeting its regulatory obligations to protect the public.
