When AHPRA receives your application AND all your supporting documentation, your application will be assigned to a registration officer for processing. Make sure you have provided a valid email address with your application, as AHPRA will send you an email confirming that we have received your application and your supporting documentation that you need to provide to complete your application. During the end of year graduate period (November – January) this process may take a few weeks before you will receive an email about your application from AHPRA. When AHPRA needs further information, we will contact you.
Please complete and mail to AHPRA as soon as possible the form, Request to change of address details – CHPD-00, which can be found under Common application forms.
After receiving your application and all required supporting documentation, AHPRA will:
*Note: Your application will be significantly delayed if you do not declare your criminal history in your application and a criminal history is found during the screening process.
After you successfully complete your course:
During the peak application period between November and January, AHPRA will be receiving graduate lists from over 500 Australian education providers for over 25,000 students. Processing of graduate lists can take up to 5 business days. You are not required to check if your list has been received. AHPRA will be in contact with you when your assessment has been complete.
The assessment process for registration takes time, due to the requirements for criminal history check and other assessment criteria. The exact time it takes varies depending on the following factors:

AHPRA will do its best but is unable to guarantee that your application will be processed and registration confirmed by your preferred date. Applications are processed in order of date received and completeness.
Circumstances such as a pending job offer with a start date will require the submission of a certified copy of the original letter of offer, on letterhead, for a preferred date of registration. This submission does not guarantee that your application will be completed before the noted preferred date.
