This section holds information relating to complaints/notifications about health practitioners.
| Conduct, Health & Performance |
|---|
|
If you have concerns about the conduct, health and performance of a registered health practitioner, please contact AHPRA on 1300 419 495.
|
| Notification Process |
|---|
|
AHPRA will assess all notifications to determine whether a Board must consider taking immediate action to protect public health or safety.
|
| Notification Outcomes |
|---|
|
Decisions made by Tribunals as a result of notifications to a National Board are published on the Austlii website, available through this link: http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/special/healthprac/.
The register of practitioners provides information about the current registration status of individual, registered health practitioners.
In a small number of cases (see below), a notification can lead to an outcome that is finalised without the matter proceeding to a hearing. The outcome can be the result of a Board taking action under the National Law or as a result of an Agreement with the practitioner.
Information about the notifications process and the outcome of notifications to AHPRA and the National Boards each year is published in the AHPRA annual report.

| Hearing Decisions |
|---|
|
Hearing decisions are available through AustLII Legal Library, Medical Council of NSW and NSW Health Care Complaints Commission.
|
| Health Complaints Entities |
|---|
|
The role of the Health Complaints Entities (HCEs) is to investigate complaints about health systems or health service providers. The HCEs can also investigate certain notifications about health practitioners. The HCEs work with AHPRA to make sure each notification is investigated by the appropriate agency.
