Notifications & Outcomes

Conduct, Health & Performance
Anyone can make a notification to AHPRA about the conduct, health or performance of a practitioner or the health of a student. If you have concerns please complete and submit the Notifications Form or contact AHPRA on 1300 419 495.
Notification Process
The process for assessing and dealing with notifications is outlined in this section. Further Information about the notifications process and the outcome of notifications is published in the AHPRA annual report.
Notification Outcomes and Hearing Decisions

The register of practitioners provides information about the current registration status of individual, registered health practitioners, including any conditions associated with their registration, except where the relevant Board has determined otherwise.

Decisions made by adjudication bodies (other than panels) as a result of notifications to a National Board are available through the Austlii website, Medical Council of NSW and NSW Health Care Complaints Commission.

A table of panel hearings since July 2010 is published on our Panel Decisions page. Summaries have been provided where there is educational and clinical value. These summaries are accessible from hyperlinks within the table. Practitioners' names are not published, consistent with the requirements of the National Law.

Published hearing decisions from adjudication bodies (other than Panels) relating to complaints and notifications made about health practitioners or students are available on the Austlii website.

Health Complaints Entities

The role of the Health Complaints Entities (HCEs) is to investigate complaints about health systems or health service providers. The HCEs can also investigate certain notifications about health practitioners. The HCEs work with AHPRA to make sure each notification is investigated by the appropriate agency.

AHPRA has a Memorandum of Understanding with HCEs to guide our joint consideration processes.
