If your registration has lapsed and you want to register to practise you need to re-apply for registration. In some cases you can use the 'Fast Track Application' for this purpose. This Fast Track process is only available for one month after your registration has lapsed. It is not open to new applicants for registration.
Under the National Law, any practitioner who does not apply to renew their general or specialist registration within one month of the expiry of their previous registration, must have their name removed from the Register and their registration must lapse. They must then re-apply for registration. The 'Fast Track' process has been established for this purpose. AHPRA processes most applications within 48 hours of receiving a completed application. Applications that include adverse declarations can take longer.
